If elected what would you do to encourage cycling in Southampton?

If elected, I would ask people to ask themselves the following question:
Do you find yourself regularly stuck in traffic, especially in rush hour?
If you answered yes, the reason for this, is because you are traffic.
Most people who cycle during peak times arrive at their destinations much quicker than those in vehicles. Whilst they cycle they are not only saving money, improving their health and reducing pollution but also contributing to their local economy. I would encourage more cycle lanes, lower speed limits and the introduction of more traffic free routes to give cyclists more peace of mind with regards to safety.
