Sunday 21st May: BRUMMELL BUMMEL (+ride photos)



Assemble: from 9.45 am outside The Ship Inn, Old Redbridge Village, for a 10 am departure
Route in brief: Redbridge Causeway, Eling, Pooksgreen, Ipley Cross, Beaulieu Rd to Lyndhurst, Southampton Rd to Lodgehill Cottage, Forest track to Woodlands Lane. Return via Fletchwood Lane and quiet roads through Totton. Optional Forest Track from Beaulieu Rd to Ashurst instead of Lyndhurst and Southampton Rd.
Coffee and lunch stop: coffee stop at The Drift (Beaulieu Rd Stn); optional lunch stop at The Gamekeeper on Woodlands Rd
Terrain: usual mix of quiet roads, off-road tracks and tarmac cycle paths. Mainly flat; no hills apart from the short steep one from Eling Toll Bridge to Eling Church.
Weather: predicted to be dry with light winds and possibility of sunshine
Please join us on this easy and enjoyable ride to remember Campaign member and cycling advocate Mark Brummell and Kieren Dix, a young engineer from Eastleigh. We will stop for a few minutes at Ipley Cross in memory of Mark and Kieren and the many cyclists seriously injured at this location.
