1 – Please join us at our AGM on 14th March.  After 3 years in role, both Lyn and Johnnie are willing to step down as chair and vice-chair, if anyone is keen to take over!  Do please get involved in any way but we promise we won’t pressurise you – please just come along. It’s 7.15pm for 7.30 prompt start at St Denys Community Centre, Priory Road, SO17 2JZ, followed at 9pm with coffee/tea.2 – If you do one thing, please respond to SCC surveys.

If you know St Denys Rd please comment by 25th Feb: https://transport.southampton.gov.uk/stdenysroad?fbclid=IwAR1UpXVC7Bz6nYYEYFphvcvLy1GsPUeVZRBCi9b2PJmaTFPSmA4geIo8xgc

You may want to say that the railway bridge is the most intimidating section so needs a cycle lane on it.  Contact us if you want the full list of our comments.

Please support these Traffic Orders – takes a few minutes.  https://transport.southampton.gov.uk/tro by 6/3, 11/3 and 1/5/22

3 – Cycle Campaign Rides: do join us.  Our 2022 monthly campaign ride leaflet is here www.southamptoncyclingcampaign.org.uk/rides/ – usually 10am on 3rd Sunday.  If you can, please print leaflets and take to bike shops, café notice boards, libraries etc to promote us.

4 – Why join one of our working groups?  Because we meet on site before plans are drawn up and are consulted on plans ahead of public consultation.  The working group coordinator communicates with the SCC person who is overseeing the scheme/route.  After each meeting we send a list of non-scheme-specific queries to Greg at SCC (Senior Transport Planner, Green City and Infrastructure). We’re constantly working on new lists and updates – so please do come along to our next zoom meeting and listen in or join a working group.

Can you help out….?

Volunteers needed at Repair Café – either as bike repairer or taking email addresses and organising the queues.  Third Sat of alt month at St Denys Community Centre and first Sat of every month Freemantle Baptist Church.  https://transitionsouthampton.org/projects-repair-cafe/

Friday 25th March – Fridays for Future – probably Guildhall Sq – please volunteer to be at our stall and chat to people.

Saturday 30th July – Big Green Event at Guildhall – please volunteer to be at our stall and chat to people.

 5 – Cycle Campaign info

Southampton Cycling Campaign meetings are on Zoom and/or in person on second Mondays at 7.15 for 7:30pm prompt start – all welcome.

  • Instead of membership fees, we just suggest donations, so if you have a regular payment to us please feel free to leave it or alter it.

  • Do forward this newsletter to others who may be interested in joining, as we’d love to gain more members.

  • Please join, come along to a meeting and join our mailing list!  (Members are able to join our secure email list once you have attended a meeting, or if that is an issue an active member can vouch for you.)  Before your first meeting, please email membership@southamptoncyclingcampaign.org.uk to get the zoom link.

  • You can join a working group, where coordinators communicate with the SCC person who is designing the scheme/route.  After each meeting we send a list of non-scheme-specific queries to Greg at SCC (Senior Transport Planner, Green City and Infrastructure). We’re constantly working on new lists and updates – so please do come along to our next zoom meeting and listen in or join a working group.

  • If you don’t want to hear from us again, please email asking to be removed from the list.  On the other hand, if you’d like to get more involved, please come along to our next meeting or contact us!  Thanks!  membership@southamptoncyclingcampaign.org.uk

Thank you for reading, and hope you can join us soon.
