Campaign ride to Lyndhurst: 17th April
The Campaign ride on Sunday 17th April is a 20 mile circular route using cycle paths, quiet roads and forest tracks. There will be a short distance on the B3056 and we will have to negotiate the one-way system in Lyndhurst. Approximately 5 miles of beautiful forest tracks. Coffee and cake stop in Lyndhurst.
Assemble from 9.45 am at the Ship Inn, Redbridge, for a prompt 10 am start. Short steep hill at Eling, otherwise fairly flat. Return by 1.30 pm.
Route in brief: cycle paths to Eling, Eling Hill, Trotts Lane, Pooksgreen, Long Lane, Twiggs Lane, Beaulieu Road, forest cycle tracks to Lyndhurst, tarmac cycle path alongside Southampton Rd for approx 1 mile, forest cycle tracks through Lodgehill and Costicles Inclosures, Fletchwood Lane, Ashurst Bridge Rd, cycle paths and quiet roads through Totton back to Redbridge.
A good opportunity to try out part of the improved Lyndhurst to Ashurst cycle route. Suitable for all bicycles. Family and friends welcome, children able to cycle 20 miles.
