Campaign Ride: Hilliers Arboretum, Sunday 18th December

The next Campaign ride starts at the Four Horseshoes, Nursling St, Nursling and takes  quiet roads and rural lanes to Hilliers, where we will stop for coffee/tea and cake or mince pies.  Return through Romsey and Lee Lane, arriving back at the Four Horseshoes at 1 pm.

An enjoyable ride of approximately 16 miles.  All welcome; a good ride to bring families and friends on as both terrain and distance are easy.

Meet:  the Four Horseshoes at 9.45 am for prompt 10 am departure   Please note:  you can  join the ride at the North Baddesley crossroads at 10.15 am.

Terrain:  one or two hills on the route out to Hilliers, otherwise mainly flat.  Quiet roads, rural lanes and cycle paths, one ford (best bypassed), short distance on fairly busy road to access Hilliers (Jermyns Lane), two busy roads and one railway line to cross. No off-road terrain.

Suitable for all  bikes.

Coffee stop:  Hilliers Arboretum

Route in brief:  Nursling estate, Horns Drove, Rownhams Lane, Bracken Rd, Flemming Ave, Nutburn Rd, Pound Lane, Green Lane, Crampmoor, Straight Mile, Jermyns Lane  Return:  Braishfield Rd, Woodley Lane, Richmond Lane,  NCN route alongside canal to the Plaza, path alongside Southampton Rd, Lee Lane, Dairy Lane.

An easy ride of approximately 16 miles.  All welcome.
