Ride to Middle Wallop on Sunday 16th August

bikesThe ride to Middle Wallop on Sunday 16th August starts at Dunbridge Station at 10 am prompt.  There is a train to Dunbridge from Southampton Central at 9.09 am, arriving at Dunbridge at 9.30 am.  This train also stops at Swaythling, St Denys, Millbrook, Redbridge and Romsey.  Those who would like to cycle to Dunbridge, meet at Chilworth roundabout at 8.30 am.  Parking at the station or nearby is free.

The outward route, via Lockerly and East Tytherly uses quiet lanes, bridleways and restricted byways. After coffee and cake at the Army Flying Museum cafe, we will return using quiet lanes through Nether Wallop, Broughton, Bossington and Mottisfont.  The outward route takes about two hours; the return is more direct and takes just over an hour.  Return between 1.30 and 2 pm.

A beautiful route with very little traffic of approx 23 miles.  Moderately hilly on outward route, downhill most of return route.  Possible, but not recommended, for narrow- wheel bikes.
