SUNDAY 12TH JULY OFF-ROAD RIDE TO WINCHESTER
The next Campaign ride is on Sunday 12th July. Meet at Lakeside cafe, Doncaster Drove between 9.45 and 10 am. Expected return time 4 pm.
This ride will use cycle paths, quiet roads, bridleways and restricted byways to Winchester and back – an alternative to the NCN route, suitable for all except road bikes.
Route: Stoneham Lane, Flemming Park, Oamount Ave, off-road to the Otter PH, Otterbourne Hill, Poles Lane, Silkstead Lane (restricted byway), Whitshute Lane (bridleway), Winchester (route through Winchester to be decided).
Return: off-road route to St Catherines Hill, bridleway around the south of the hill, Pilgrim’s Trail (bridleway), Mare Lane, Hensting Lane, Nob’s Crook track, Church Lane, Bishopstke Road, off-road cycle path to Eastleigh Stn, Desborough Road back to Lakeside.
We will stop for coffee and cake when we arrive in Winchester, between 11.30 am and 12 noon. Lunch will be a picnic on St Catherine’s Hill, so bring along sandwiches, crisps etc. If not picnic weather, we will have lunch at a cafe or pub.
