BIKE WEEK 2015 13th–21st June – Southampton Programme
All events except Party on the Path organised by Southampton Cycling Campaign. All events free.
Friday 12th, 7 pm: Bikes vs Cars
90 min film at the Art House, Above Bar highlighting the issues cyclists face
around the world. Free; all welcome
Saturday 13th, from 11am, Party on the Path
Celebration of 20 yrs of NCN at Pavilion In the Park, Eastleigh, SO50 9LH. Fun led Bike rides with music, Dr Bike, Cycling Info,Cycles4All, Route Planning and more.
Monday 15th,6.30pm: Chilworth, Lordswood
Meet at the Cowherds for a led cycle ride; some off-road (mountain bikes not essential).
Return to the Cowherds for refreshments.
Tuesday 16th, 6.30pm: Stoke Park Woods
Meet at Swaythling Station (or 6.45pm at Lakeside cafe, Doncaster Drove). Led cycle ride on quiet roads, off-road paths and bridleways. Stop for refreshments; return approx 10 pm
Wednesday 17th, 6.30pm: Hamble
Meet at the Bargate (7pm at Woolston Stn) for a led ride to Hamble via Weston Shore and Royal Victoria Country Park. Stop for refreshments at Hamble; return approx 10pm
Thursday 18th, 6.30 pm: Eling
Meet at the bandstand, Palmerston Park for a led ride to Eling. Refreshments at Eling; return approx 10pm
Friday 19th, 6.30pm: Durley
Meet at riverside Park, by Cobden Bridge for a led ride to Durley. Stopping at the Farmers’ Home for refreshments; return approx 10pm
All rides insured and led by experienced ride leaders. Participants should bring lights, waterproof clothing if rain forecast and a small amount of money for refreshments.
