Current cycle schemes

Information from Dale Bostock, the cycling officer at the city council, about current cycling schemes in Southampton:

• Romsey Rd, Shirley – Toucan Crossing at the junction of King Edward
  Avenue – on site now
• Rownhams Rd North shared facility near Oakland’s School to Bakers
  Drove – on site now
• Northam Bridge Toucan adjacent to Centurion Park will go with
  conversion of Bridge and later adaptation of Prince’s Street – start Jan 08
• Dorset Street shared facility between Jury’s Inn (Corner of Brunswick
  Place) and Bellevue Rd /Ordnance Rd – due Feb 08
• Northlands road, work on a cycle/pedestrian facility to facilitate crossing to and from the Common and cemetery road – just started (I cycled past it myself today in fact)
