Latest news on upgrade of Lordswood Lane to Restricted Byway status

You will be pleased to hear that the proposal to upgrade Lordswood Lane (the track from Coxford Roadout to the Chilworth Arms) to Restricted Byway status went through today at a meeting of the Hampshire County Council and so has passed its first hurdle. It was a bit of a cliff hanger, with all deputees except for Sue Coles speaking against the proposal and at one time it looked as though the issue of unauthorised use by motor cyclists might result in the proposal being rejected. Fortunately, it went through 8 to 4. The next stage is that it will be advertised. Objections will almost certainly be made and so it will then go to public inquiry. Congratulations to Sue Coles for standing up in front of the Council alone against the objectors, and thanks for all the hard work she has put in.
